As I prayed, the melody and words to a great old hymn kept washing over my consciousness:
Great is thy faithfulness, O God, My Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee.
Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not;
As thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.
I just let the music and lyrics wash me in God's faithfulness, his mercy and love. I just remained quiet in the presence of God and let the words minister to my soul.
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,All of it true and all of it for me. As a member of his family, I have mercies fresh each morning. I have an unchanging God as my Father.
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
And I have a Abba-father who will say to me, stop, put that down. Hop up on my lap and let's just be together.
I'm excited for Care-Group tonight. Don't disapoint me. Ha-Ha. Jk.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I love when that happpens, when you sit down to read and you really feel God's presence pointing you in another direction... just another example George of how you are sensitive to the Holy Spirit, one of the things that I admire most about you. You really allow Him to lead and direct you.
