How do you live backwards? Well, you start at the end; you start with the person you want to be, the way you want to me remembered. I want to be remembered as a man of love –
- that I loved my Savior and was ready at a moments notice to lay down my life and often harder – to be unconvinced or change my plans.
- that I loved my wife in such a way that you could look at me in a crowded room and you could tell who my wife was because of the way I looked at her. That I lived my life in front of her in a way that reminded you of Christ’s sacrifice for the church.
- that I loved my kids such that, when they were still a long way off, this father saw them and felt compassion, and ran and embraced them and kissed them. I want to be a father whose passion is not to convict them of sin, but to convince them of grace.
- I want my love to bear two specific things, to passionately proclaim and live the gospel.
