This will be the first of what I expect to me many Health Care rants. Hang with me, I will have a spin on this that I BET you will not see anywhere else...
Part 1 - Yesterday the New York Times reported that two baseball players were outed for using steroids. They were tested anonymously in a deal between the Major League Players Union and MLB. Fine, good. THEN the government in their "Performance Enhancing Drugs in Sports" probe took the records from the offices of the union. It is being determined that it is not the union or MLB who is leaking the names - but the government. In the words of Claude Rains, "I'm shocked".
Part 2 - as part of the new Health Care overhaul, your doctor will not keep your medical records, but a giant federally-controlled health care data base will be established and will give doctors, hospitals, pharmacies...and the government access to your medical records.
What that means is that virtually every government employee with a sign-on has access to your personal medical records. And they will do as well with your records as they did with Manny Ramirez and Big Poppys records (and Alex Rodriguez and...the next guy to come out).
Happy now?
